Vianney is a free representation of the Saint Curé of Ars. Here the iconography of the holy priest is completely reinvented. The Curé of Ars, famous for his sermons to which the faithful flocked, is represented on the staircase ascending to his flesh. He holds a discipline, a small knotted flogger used for mortifications which were recommended to keep the body from all sin. The artist offers a vision of the saint removed from any “patos” to favor his humanity, captured in intimacy. This work is a unique original work of art - Painting by Nicolas Maureau (France), Oil on Canvas. The work has a rectangular shape, Its dimensions are 130x97 cm. The artist's signature is present on the artwork. This artwork is part of the gallery Mystiques. Framing options are available for this artwork, please contact us for details.
