Exhibition Proposal – Manolis Maridakis Manolis Maridakis is one of Greece’s most acclaimed painters and scenographers, with a distinguished presence in the visual arts scene. His work blends surrealistic imagery, theatrical composition, and deep emotional resonance, creating a symbolic and dreamlike world that challenges and inspires the viewer. Around the same time, he was admitted first to the Athens School of Fine Arts, where he studied scenography under Vasilis Vasileiadis. With decades of experience, Manolis Maridakis has collaborated with leading figures in Greek theater and film, while also developing a unique visual language through independent exhibitions and cultural events. In a brief biography of Manolis Maridakis, we can mention than in 1983 he presented his first painting exhibition at the Argo Gallery. Since then, many solo and group exhibitions have followed, such as: In 1984, a group exhibition in Cyprus at the KEMA Gallery In 1985, a group exhibition at the ARGO Gallery In 1990, a solo exhibition at the KARRA Gallery In 1995, a solo exhibition at the ARGO Gallery In 2010, a solo exhibition at the ATHENS CONCERT HALL Greece In 2011, a group exhibition in Paris at the GRAND PALAIS In 2012, a solo exhibition in Cannes and in Paris in the same year In 2022, a solo exhibition at the AMALIAS 36 Gallery In 1988, he won the First Prize for the Athens Municipality booth at the Xenia exhibition in Thessaloniki and in 1989, he won again the First Prize at an International tourism exhibition in Paris, with the booth representing Greece. The “Theater Museum” has documented 120 theatrical stage designs, has designed sets for over 150 TV series and shows, as well as theatrical works. His feature films, in which he played a significant role, includes “Rebetiko” by Kostas Ferris with music by Stavros Xarhakos and “Kostas and the Aliens” by Dimis Dadira with Kostas Voutsas. He also served as the Artistic Director at the Peloponnese Regional Theater with General Director Michalis Bouchlis. We propose a solo exhibition, presenting selected works from his most recent artistic series. The exhibition may include paintings and scenographic elements, depending on the curatorial direction and the gallery's space. The exhibition may be accompanied by an artist talk, guided tours, or educational workshops, according to the gallery’s interest and program. Our goal is to present Maridakis’ work to a wider audience that seeks the poetic and symbolic depth of visual storytelling. We are able to send you via wetransfer a Portfolio of selected works Sincerely, Roza Maria Maridaki
