Bleached Cluster

String Art · 2026

Richard Harding, a fiber artist based in Ashland, VA, explores the depths of texture and form through the meticulous use of Twine. With a keen eye for detail, Harding intertwines Thread and Rope to create mesmerizing soft sculptures. His work is a reflection of the natural world, with a particular focus on organic forms found in the ocean. Using techniques such as chording sewn in concentric circles, Harding evokes the look of the ocean's bleached corals, destroyed by the devastating effects of climate change and pollution. Through his art, Harding aims to raise awareness and provoke contemplation about our impact on the delicate ecosystems of our planet.
